Question by Jennifer A: How important is Kindergarten Graduation?
My son’s school is holding the Kindergarten Graduation in the city in a beautifully restored historic building. My husband refuses to even consider going. He doesn’t like driving in the particular part of town that it’s being held at. I don’t know my way around this town. So what should I do? My son doesn’t care now, will he care when he gets older? I hate for him to miss it.

Best answer:

Answer by superchick2314
I thought my son’s kindergarten graduation was a dumb idea. I thought to myself, what could he have really accomplished that was worth such pomp and circumstance?
I did go, but only half heartedly.
Well, when I got there and the music started and the children started walking in, I felt my heart melt. The graduation isn’t really for them, it’s for you. Don’t miss it. Really, try to talk Dad into going. I have very fond memories of it.
They have been practicing songs and things for this event. Please go.

deffinetly a community college

don’t have a lot of money….

Best answer:

Answer by Little Miss Advice
Do you have a guidance councelor at your school?
They would probably be able to help you the most. But you’ll definitely need a teaching degree.
Are you looking into community college classes or attending a university? they would all play a role in becoming a teacher.

Every college and university is different. they range in prices etc. so youll definitely need to do some research in order to find where you might want to take classes.

Good luck!

Question by justaskme: Should Michigan change the cut off date for kindergarten?
In Michigan they moved the the start of school from the last week of August to the week after Labor Day, but they left the cut-off for kindergarten at December 1st. I have always wondered where they got that date from and how they decided on it, but now that we have moved up the starting date for the first day of school I think that they should change it as well.

Best answer:

Answer by sbyldy
I wish they would get rid of those cut-off dates all together, and just test the kids starting at age 5, to see whether or not they are ready to start school. I think a lot of the problems with schooling would be solved by doing this. Just changing the cut off dates will not change the fact that some kids will be ready to start school at 4 and some not until they are 6 or 7.

My 5 year old who turns 6 in December already knows her alphabet and numbers, simple math, and is learning how to spell. I think I over prepared her for kindergarten and she might not be challenged enough. She is really excited about starting school but I think she might be older than children in her class because of her birth date.

My daughter is 5 and in kindergarten. She just received her first fundraiser. A small catolage of pizza, cookies, treats, kitchen gadgets. How do I ask people to take a look…I know these things are expensive, I only plan on asking a few people at my work that I know would be able to afford it. But I dont want any one to feel pressured.
She only needs one sale to get a prize. And Im sure that will be what we get, lol.
